A breech baby means that the baby's buttocks or bottom is coming out first rather than the baby's head.
In the case of a breech baby it can also be known as a footling breach which is where the baby's feet are coming out first.
The problem with a breech birth is that in most instances the baby's head will be larger than the bottom or the feet and there is a greater risk that the baby could get stuck in the birth canal after the buttox or the feet are delivered.
Most doctors will recommend a cesarean section rather than try and deliver a breech baby
